The new 'State of Nature' 2023 report: UK in bottom 10% globally

The new 2023 State of Nature report should be a worry to all of us.  A wealth of data underpins the findings over two periods: the medium term up to 50 years, and the short term trends over the last 10 years.

Even before the 1970 baseline for this report, the UK was in the bottom 10% globally of nature-depleted countries, and last in G7 countries, which makes the continuing loss of our wildlife even more concerning.

See https://stateofnature.org.uk/  for a great overview, and links to more further information.

Ther'es also a good summary of the main findings in this 7 min video from Channel 4 which is worth a watch: https://www.channel4.com/news/nature-in-crisis-landmark-report-reveals-plummeting-british-wildlife
